Granny's Best Carpet Cleaning Secrets: Removing Stains With Vinegar

One of the best uses for vinegar is removing tough stains from carpets.

Removing stains with vinegar is perhaps one of the most effective and environmentally friendly ways to get even the toughest set-in grimy spots from a carpet. As a young pup growing up in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains, I can remember my Granny using some of her time-tested, old-school methods for keeping a spotless and almost sterile-clean house. Many of those old-time recipes included using vinegar cleaners for just about any room in her house. One of her favorites was using vinegar to clean stains from her carpets. She was a loving soul but one of the things that Granny hated most was stains in her carpets. With so many grandkids running through her house every day, there were a lot of spots, stains and dirt.

How to Remove Stains with Vinegar

While it may not lift out every type of stain from your carpet, using white distilled vinegar as cleaner will take out just about any stain. Here's how you do it: First, dissolve 2 tablespoons of salt in about 1/2 cup of white distilled vinegar. Rub the solution into the carpet stain, let the area dry and then simply vacuum. If you have a larger stained area, try mixing 2 tablespoons of borax into the vinegar-salt mixture and treat in the same way.

Spot Treatment with Vinegar as Cleaner

You can also make a spray-on spot treatment by mixing 1 part vinegar with 5 parts water. Get a second spray bottle and fill it with a solution of 5 parts water and 1 part non-sudsy ammonia. To treat spot stains in your carpet, soak a cloth with the vinegar solution and saturate the spot or stain. Let it sit for a few minutes and blot dry with a clean cloth. Now spray the ammonia solution on the spot or stain and blot dry. Repeat this alternating treatment until the spot is gone.

What Granny Knew About Removing Stains with Vinegar

Some folks tried to encourage Granny to start using some of the commercial cleaning products available from the local grocery store. They claimed these new-fangled cleaners would save her time and help Granny to get the job done quicker. Granny simply smiled and went on doing as she had done for so many years. Perhaps she knew more than she was telling about these natural cleaning methods, or maybe she was just stubborn. Either way, those old-fashioned ways of cleaning are making a big comeback in this era of environmental awareness.

How to Get the Most Value Out of Your Laundry Detergent

Shop with laundry detergent coupons

Whether you prefer to search through mailers and fliers on a weekly basis for coupons and mail in rebates or online at your favorite coupon website, there are numerous deals to find. Popular brands will routinely provide coupons and rebates for their various products. Often when a new product line is introduced, the manufacturer will offer some type of incentive to get you to try the new product out.

Buy in bulk

Wholesalers like Costco and Sam's Club will often sell bulk quantity detergents and cleaners, potentially saving you money. Make sure to compare the package size or the number of loads you can get from each container, both for powder and liquid detergents. Ultimately, you're looking for the lowest cost per unit or cost per load when you're trying to find the best deal.

Follow the detergent directions carefully

Even if you save a few bucks on your laundry detergent purchase, if you don't pay attention to amount you should be using per load, you're potentially using too much, which will ultimately cost you money. If a liquid detergent is supposed to be dispensed in 2 oz portions, but you don't bother to measure and end up using 3 oz at a time, you're wasting 50% of the product!

Buy only detergents are on sale

Depending on how retailers and grocery stores stock up on a particular brand or product line, they may eventually be in a position where they need to move product to make room for upcoming shipments of other goods. This means that the grocery store or shop might be offering up a sale to clear shelf space, which is a good time for you to consider make a purchase and stock up.

Search online auctions for potential deals on detergent

Sellers on eBay.com will offer up all kinds of stuff, including cleaning products and laundry detergents. Doing a quick search for your favorite brand names may reveal a good deal. Make sure to evaluate any potential shipping costs to determine if the overall purchase is a better deal than what you could get otherwise at your local grocery store.

Discount and Dollar Stores

Often times, these specialty retailers will have a batch of detergent that they buy cheap from some other retailer and in term are able to offer you the consumer low prices. Check around to see what kinds of deals are out there. Even ask the shop keepers to see if they regularly get detergents to sell.

Several Uses of an Industrial Pressure Washer

An industrial pressure washer is one of the most powerful and efficient cleaning machines presently available. These machines offer unmatched output pressure levels and temperatures. Some of the latest models provide output pressure levels as high as 8000 psi and output temperatures as high as 330°F.

However, industrial pressure washing machines are not just about cleaning power. They are specialized equipment for particular cleaning tasks. For example, you can find low flow pressure washing equipment for auto detailing and high pressure washers for heavy-duty industrial degreasing.

This article deals with various uses of industrial pressure washing machines and specifications of most suitable machines for the task.

Heavy-Duty Degreasing
Degreasing is perhaps the toughest of all cleaning tasks. It requires powerful cleaning machines. A pressure washer with more than 3000 psi is an essential prerequisite for carrying out this task. The higher the output pressure of the machine, the more efficient and quicker the cleaning process will be.

High pressure washers carry out industrial degreasing tasks by pumping their output onto industrial equipment and factory floors to blast away grease, dirt, oil stains, and dust present.

Graffiti Removal
Graffiti removal is another cleaning task tailor-made for pressure washing equipment. For graffiti removal, one does not require an extremely powerful machine suitable for degreasing. The output pressure level of the machine can stay inside the 3000 psi mark.

The mode of working is the same, though. The output of the machine washes away all the markings and graffiti from the walls. For outdoor cleaning of walls, a hot water pressure washer powered by a combustion engine is the best choice. Gasoline, diesel, or propane can be used as fuel.

Water runoff is a problem when cleaning outdoor locations. Cleaning workers must ensure that the place has sufficient drainage facilities. It would be better to use industrial pressure washer machines with low flow rates in such situations. Normally, flow rate increases as output pressure increases. However, there are specially made machines that have low flow rates and reasonably high output pressure.

Hard Surface Cleaning
Hot water pressure washing machines are suitable for regular hard surface cleaning tasks such as cleaning floors and metal surfaces. These machines are used for various hard surface cleaning tasks in almost all commercial buildings, ranging from educational institutions to hotels and restaurants.

For indoor cleaning, an electric pressure cleaner is the most suitable choice. These machines work efficiently and without much noise. And, unlike machines that burn fossil fuels, electric pressure washing machines do not produce combustion exhaust, which increases the humidity within indoor areas.

Auto Detailing
Pressure washing machines are used for cleaning automobiles as well. One thing to ensure is that the machine does not have an output pressure level exceeding 1500 psi. The flow rate also needs to be low. Otherwise, water run-off could cause extreme fines.

There are specially made industrial high pressure washer models for auto detailing. These machines have modest output pressure levels, low flow rates, and high output temperatures. Portable machines are best suited for large-scale auto detailing.

Clean Air Means Less House Cleaning and Dusting? Yep, Sure Does!

Does it seem like you're cleaning all the time? And every time you turn around, there's another layer of dust on that piece of furniture? Time for carpet cleaning...again?! Does house cleaning ever end??!!

Let's face it. Very few of us have time to constantly clean and dust. We're just too busy! Plus, in this economy, most of us don't have the extra money for house cleaning services, either! Where does this dust and dirt come from anyway?

Well, it's a combination of stuff we track in from outside, the dust from your ducts / air conditioner vents, and tiny particles that are released when our hands and feet rub across furniture, bedding, carpets, etc. The air that's moving inside the room picks up the particles and those particles settle on everything, and there you go-more dusting and cleaning to do. Ugh.

You mean having clean air can really help us keep up with our fast-paced lives, reduce house cleaning time and the cost of cleaning supplies? Absolutely. It just makes sense. If you can remove the particles from the air, then there will be less to settle and accumulate-in the corners, and in our noses! And you'll get the added benefit of feeling better, with less sneezing and coughing, or even asthma attacks. Don't forget, dust is very dirty stuff, composed of dirt, dead skin cells, dust mite/insect parts, pet dander, bacteria, viruses, pollen, mold spores and more. In a month or so, you'll be happy to notice that you just aren't buying as much cleaning supplies, cleaning services, Swiffer duster refills, carpet cleaning--and probably less allergy medications!

So how do we do clean up the air? All you need is a 1) a good allergy rated filter in your home a/c system, 1500 rating or higher, and 2) get a quality air purifier that can handle the amount of air in your home or room, and has a true HEPA filter, which will remove 99.97% or higher of the particles floating around. Be sure to change the air filter in your home at least every 3 months, and the HEPA filter in your air purifier as indicated by the manufacturer. And the air purifier will actually extend the life of the home air filter, too, so that's another cost reduction!

One very good air purifier we found that is very good for getting rid of dust is the Blueair 403 This unit features durable steel construction, a powerful HEPA filter that removes up to 99.99% of particles, healthy negative ions to further purify the air, and an available lifetime warranty. This will handle rooms 375 square feet and smaller.

For larger spaces, up to 1500 square feet, the Aller Air 5000 Exec works very well. This air purifier features a true HEPA filter, a pre-filter, and a full 18 pounds of activated carbon to remove chemical vapors and odors-vapors and odors that cause allergy attacks, headaches, and more! Got headaches that you can't put your finger on? It really could be in the air!

Both of these air purifiers will definitely reduce the need for house cleaning and dusting, and leave you more time for the important things like family and fun times.

As always, if you have any questions, give us a call at 1-800-701-2513. The expert staff at Air Purifiers and Cleaners.com is standing by to help.

Tile and Grout Cleaning

Tile and grout cleaning done on a regular basis can help in making the kitchen or the bathroom attain a new look all the time. Grout is the cement like substance which joins the tiles on the floor and walls. To remove it a grout saw, a tool for scrapping or just a mixture of water and sugar can be poured over the tiles for softening the grout after which it can be removed. When you use the scraper tool or the grout saw for grout removal you need to be very careful not to damage the tiles.

Tile and Grout Cleaning For Marble

Marble requires regular maintenance as it is a material which is beautiful. Marble in white or off white shade tends to look dirty and stained if not cleaned on a regular basis. When it is used in an exposed area, it is necessary to be careful about it.

To clean out the dirt and stains from the marble's white surface, is a difficult task. But these will need to be followed if the original colour and finish has to be maintained for a long period of time. If the right kind of methods is followed you can retain the original appearance of marble.

Tile and Grout Cleaning By Preventing Scratches and Damages

By nature marble is porous and to prevent chipping and scratches on the surface the cleaning process needs to be carefully done. Due to constant use the kitchen countertops are prone to a lot of staining and the same applies to flooring in marble. Some of the processes used for cleaning can take away the shine on the surface.

The drying and the mopping technique is the best one to follow. Just add some washing up liquid in a bucket of water. In the liquid mixture first dip in the cloth and then mop the dirty areas. When this is done, a gradual process of stain removal takes place Once again, plain water can be used for mopping. Polish with a soft cloth to bring back the shine.

Tile and Grout Cleaning With Special Material

Also available is chamois a special kind of leather for cleaning marble. It has a soft texture that is velvet like that helps in polishing the marble after the cleaning is over. All that you need to do is moisten the chamois first and then rub the marble surface with it.

Another cleaning agent called poultice is a great cleansing agent to get rid of grime, dust and dirt. An action of the capillary kind helps in sucking out the stains by the absorbent cleaning agent called poultice which is available readily in many of the shops for home improvement. Clay can be dampened to prepare the poultice. On the marble that has been stained, this poultice can be applied and kept for just fifteen minutes and then removed. If the marble floor is only dirty and not stained, plain water can be used for mopping. If proper tile and grout cleaning methods are adopted you can have a nice clean looking kitchen or flooring.

Five Common Foods Used To Clean Up Around The House

The local grocery store cleaning aisle can be pretty confusing. The aisle contains assorted products such has glass cleaners, stain removers, disinfectants and all purpose cleaners. But there's another aisle that may be just as useful for someone that is searching for household cleaning products. Believe it or not, the food aisle can contain products that are just as effective as the products found on the cleaning product aisle. Better yet, the food products are much cheaper. Check out five creative ways to use food to clean up around the house!

White bread cleans up shattered glass on floors and counters. It can be difficult to get all the tiniest pieces when glass is shattered,. And worse, those tiny pieces can hurt pretty bad if stepped on by bare feet. But there is a quick, easy and affordable solution that can be found in every kitchen. Simply use white bread to get the glass off the floor. Lightly press the white bread along the surface where the glass is shattered and the glass will stick to the bread. Be cautious and dispose of the bread properly to avoid contact with children and pets.

Ketchup cleans stainless steel sinks perfectly. Ketchup is really good at delivering a great shine to stainless steel sinks. Simply squirt ketchup into the sink and use a clean damp cloth to spread the ketchup around the stainless steel surface. Rinse with warm water and towel dry the sink.

Rice is a great coffee grinder cleaner. The oil from coffee grounds can hide in some places even when the coffee grinder appears clean,. Try using uncooked white rice in order to produce a clean, vibrant shine. For a regular blade system, add uncooked white rice up to the height of the blades. Run the grinder and dispose of the rice that will be coated in the sticky brown coffee residue.

Green tea removes odors inside a refrigerator. Use green tea leaves to deter odors in a refrigerator. Add green tea leaves to a bowl and place the bowl in the refrigerator. Even pungent odors such as garlic and onions will be absorbed by the tea leaves. Also, try rubbing hands with tea leaves to remove and absorb odors.

Club soda removes carpet stains. Attack carpet spills by blotting the stained area with club soda. Then, pour club soda over the area and scrub with a damp cloth. Red wine stains & urine stains can also be removed using this technique.

Obviously, there are plenty of foods that should never be used while cleaning around the house. It's a good idea to be cautious and never assume that all food products are effective at cleaning around the house. However, don't be scared to use these five food products because they will save anyone both time and money.

How to Get Rid of Clutter on Tables and Counters to Live an Organized and Decluttered Lifestyle

Flat surfaces can be a blessing and a curse. Isn't it nice to see a cleaned off table - just think of all the things we could do; we could set the table for a big family meal, we could sit and use it for crafts, we could let children use it for their homework or drawings, there are so many possibilities! Unfortunately as soon as we have a flat surface cleared we usually start putting things back onto it. It's almost like the side table, kitchen counter, entryway table, coffee table, bathroom counter, and every other flat surface has a clutter magnet on it! There's no arguing here - keeping these surfaces clear is tough for anyone. A good way to deal with these is to go through the normal decluttering process and get to the clean surface. Once you have done that take a look at what you want and what you like on that surface. Does it have a lamp that you use? Is there a picture that you want to display? Figure out what you like the best and how many items this is - we want to limit the number to something reasonable, but we also want to be comfortable with what we choose. Once we have this figured out you will know how many things should be there. When you start to see how this can help you maintain a decluttered environment this should become second nature.

If we let some things sneak back onto a surface, don't worry too much about it. Set a time when you will go over the area and pick things up and put them back where they belong. We can't have a spotless and totally organized house one hundred percent of the time - we would go crazy even trying! The idea is to get used to regularly keeping things under control. This might mean putting your books away every night, cleaning up when you get home from work, or taking Saturday afternoon to pick up after yourself. It is certainly a give and take - you don't want to spend so much time picking up that you start hating spending the time doing it, but you don't want to wait so long that it becomes a huge project again! We want to find what works best for ourselves. It takes time and a little trial and error. After a few weeks it should be fairly evident what works best for you. If by the end of three weeks you can't seem to get a good system going on a regular schedule I suggest setting aside five or ten minutes three nights a week to pick up and clean off your surfaces. Write them down, make a checklist, or set an alarm - just make sure that you are following through and sticking to a schedule. It is like many other habits - you have to keep doing them for it to be effective, the first few weeks can be the most trying but it does become much easier after that.

Home Cleaning Service For Chores You Don't Want To Do

It can be hard to find the time in the course of your busy day to address some of the domestic concerns of owning a house. At the end of a long day of work the last thing you want to do is to come back to your place and have to clean and straighten up everything. While it can be hard to find time to do it, there is no denying the fact that it needs to be done. Fortunately, for those with busy lives who are in need of assistance there are home cleaning service professionals who are happy to come out and do the menial tasks that are so often overlooked.

Home cleaning service allows property owners to feel at ease and comfortable in their space. A clutter free and dirt free living area offers peace of mind, but on the other hand when things are messy it can be stressful. These companies are skilled at coming in while you are away at work and doing all the little chores that are so hard to schedule time for. They will scrub out bathroom walls and sinks and also wash kitchen counters and stovetops. They will sweep and mop the floors and perform deodorizing tasks. When a person gets come back everything will be washed and smell fresh. This allows a person to simply enjoy their space in the evening and not worry about trying to stay abreast of domestic needs.

The trick to finding a home cleaning service to offer this incredible assistance is that it is difficult to find someone who can be trusted to be alone in the house during the day. This is a most sacred space and when a stranger is there alone it can be disconcerting. By hiring a professional company you get the added protection of knowing that a larger organization is standing behind the trustworthiness of a person. Hiring a local person does not assure this protection.

On the other hand while a larger home cleaning Service Company is more likely to protect a person against theft or damage, they have their drawbacks as well. They are generally more expensive for the same work and they also do not always send the same people to the house every week. That means that special requests or preferences may go unheeded. With a local person you have the benefit of dealing with the same person every time and you can instruct them to your needs and wants as necessary.

Home cleaning service from a professional company or a local contractor gives peace of mind and comfort while offering a much-needed service. Each have their benefits but both will give a person the satisfaction of knowing that their house will be in order when they return.

How to Keep Your New Carpet Looking Beautiful

When you buy a home, you want to decorate it with carpeting to match your personal style. Over time, carpet can get dirty and dingy from being walked on constantly. Luckily, there are measures you can take to ensure your carpet will last as long as possible. Here are some tips to care for your home's carpet to keep it looking nice and new.

Vacuum Regularly

Be sure to vacuum your carpet often; one to two times a week is best. Vacuuming will help to remove any soil that can ruin the fibers of your carpet. It is important that you continue to vacuum since much of the dirt that can slice your carpet fibers is not visible to the naked eye.

Check Your Carpet Warranty

When you first, make sure read the manufacturer's warranty. The warranty should spell out any specific instructions on what you need to do to keep your warranty valid. If the carpet manufacturer has any recommendations, try your best to follow it.

Spot Clean When Your Carpet Gets Soiled

It is inevitable; eventually something will get spilt or dragged onto your new carpet. New carpet typically comes with an anti-stain barrier to help protect your carpet from such events. Some anti-stain technology is better than others, and your first spill is the perfect time to test yours out. Your manufacturer warranty should list what types of stains are covered under warranty, and also what their recommended method for spot cleaning is.

Protect Your Carpet

Carpet is made to be walked on. The more people you have living in your home the more wear and tear your carpet will endure. Carpet tends to wear down first in high-traffic areas, such as those in front of the front door or in a hallway. To protect your carpet from such wear and tear, use runners or mats in those high-traffic areas. Runners can be placed down your hallway to protect rug burn, the wearing down of your carpet. You can also use a sticky-backed plastic on your stairs to help protect the carpet from constant use. Rearranging your furniture every now and then can also help by changing the pattern of heavy traffic in your home.

Get Professional Cleaning

In general, it is best to have your carpet clean by a professional carpet cleaning company once a year. If you have areas that are subjected to really heavy traffic and a lot of dirt, you may want to have it cleaned more often than. Professional cleaning does not leave any residue, and completely and thoroughly gets the dirt and stains out of your carpet. Many anti-stain carpet manufacturers state in their warranties that you should have your carpet professionally cleaned every other year. Cleaning by a professional can remove the dirt and soil that vacuuming may leave behind.

Why Clean Your Air and Appliances?

Is your dryer not performing to its full potential anymore? Clothes taking an extra long time to dry or clothes that are hotter than normal at the end of the cycle are two signs that your appliance needs to be cleaned. Just like air ducts, dryer vents can infect your indoor air quality. If you are trying to improve your air quality and the performance of your appliances, then your best bet is to contact an air cleaning company. They can help with residential and commercial buildings of all sizes.

Homeowners and businesses alike can benefit from air duct cleaning services. A smoothly running HVAC system is important and even more important is the air it is pushing out. Dirty air can seriously take a toll on someone's health. People with allergies or asthma especially should be aware of the quality of air they are breathing in. Breathing in contaminants will only trigger allergenic symptoms and attacks. Those with small children or infants should also remember the importance of having clean ducts. Professional companies can clean every inch of your ducts by using positive and negative air and soft bristles. Any dust or particles clogging the duct will be safely cleaned out and removed without entering the building's air flow. Chemical treatments are also always an option.

Some appliances can be serviced and cleaned to help improve air quality and the safety of a home or business. For example, dryers pose a huge threat when they are not maintained. Clogged dryer vents can be dangerous and are the cause of many fires that could have potentially been avoided. Cleaning your dryer vent professionally guarantees that the machine runs smoother, prevents moisture and mold, increases the system's lifespan, and helps prevent carbon monoxide invasion if it is a gas dryer machine. You can almost always tell when your machine is past due for a vent cleaning because the machine performs differently. Clothes may be hotter than normal at the end of a cycle or they could take much longer to dry than normal. Another sign is if the flapper does open that is on the vent hood when the cycle is running.

Cleaning your air can be done easily by taking advantage of professional air technicians. They can test it for quality and provide multiple different services that help improve quality. Not only do these maintenance services make breathing easier and healthier, but they can help prevent fire.

Types of Sandstone Sealer

Because of the variety in colors and design performed by nature, sandstone is a popular building material used both for interior and exterior use as well as for domestic and commercial use. A sedimentary rock made up of sand-sized particles of quartz and other minerals, it is a natural occurring building material that has been a popular choice in building temples, cathedrals and monuments since ancient times. It is also considered an eco-friendly material since it can be source near the building site saving precious energy and excess materials from cutting and trimming are not wasted since these can be used in making concrete.

Considered the youngest of the stones, sandstone defers in its porosity, strength and permeability. Thus it has found many uses in gardens as an architectural ornament, as pavement, a fountain or a wall. Sandstone is a popular material as a countertop, tiles for floors, in showers or part of a wall as a vertical design. Although a stone, sandstone is very porous thus is susceptible to stains and damage. Water or any liquid such as oil will be absorbed by the sandstone very quickly and over time will cause damage to the surface thus sandstone sealer is applied to protect it. To further protect the beauty of sandstone, regular cleaning is required since dust may also cause scratches. Sandstone floors should also be cleaned with a cleaned with a dry untreated mop or wiped with warm water with a sponge or mop. Cleansers especially made for sandstone or stone should be used since regular cleaners that contain acid such as bleach or ammonia can damage surface of the sandstone.

There are generally two types of sandstone sealers in the market, the penetrating type and the topical type. The type of sealer usually depends on the location and the application of the sandstone. The penetrating type of sandstone sealers also known as impregnators are designed to penetrate the surface of the sandstone binding with the substrates of the stones. This will help block any liquids from penetrating the surface of the sandstone. Water may be colorless, but when left to penetrate sandstone, it may dry but a stain will result, more so with oils. This type of protection is usually applied in pavements, floors, or any exterior use since impregnators are UV resistant compared to the second type, the topical sealers.

Topical sealers which can either be permanent or strippable. Most are water based and are much cheaper than the penetrating type of sandstone sealer. Topical sealers will only coat the surface and will not penetrate the insides or substrates of the stone. A disadvantage of topical sandstone sealers is it is prone to show wear especially in high traffic areas such as floor. It is also not UV resistant and will yellow over time. Constant stripping and resealing may result in scratches and etch marks on the sandstone although topical sandstone sealers are more skid or slip resistant as compared to penetrating sealers.

How to Choose Hospitality Supplies for a Commercial Kitchen

When setting up a new kitchen from the ground up, the amount of shopping around, price comparisons and essentials buying can be completely overwhelming. How can you know what the right hospitality supplies are for your needs, and how do you choose which models or brands offer the best value? The answer to choosing quality and value obviously depends on the specific product you are searching for at the moment, but here we have collected a brief guide to help you pick the essential hospitality supplies for the commercial kitchen.

When stocking your kitchen you might turn to one of various catalogues and other resources available to help the restaurateur. These catalogues can be helpful but often have the motive of selling as many hospitality supplies as possible to the inexperienced chef or manager. So instead of relying completely on a salesperson's advice, you should meet with all the key players in the kitchen and plan ahead to determine which hospitality supplies are really necessary and warrant spending more of the budget on.

It is important to choose high quality, long lasting hospitality supplies in all areas of the kitchen, although this can be a significant problem if money is short at the beginning of your business endeavours. If you decide to restrict spending on key hospitality supplies such as pots and pans, utensils, kitchen knives and storage facilities you will only find yourself incurring escalated costs later on as more time is spent cleaning and maintaining the inefficient and faulty equipment.

As well as the cooking equipment essential to the efficient operation of your kitchen, there are other products to consider, such as chefs and wait staff uniforms, table settings and interior decorations. These additional items are vital to enticing customers into your restaurant and can make the difference between a banal and uninteresting meal and an experience your diners will rave about to their friends. Choosing these supplies requires a little more creativity and involves designing an entire image for your business and choosing products to fit and complement your style.

As they say, the devil is in the details, and it is important to choose each of your hospitality supplies very carefully to engineer the perfect experience for your customers. By thinking of small ways to improve your service you can instantly get ahead of the competition and build up a loyal following of diners. You could, for instance, purchase hospitality supplies such as a water filter and cooler for delicious complimentary water, delicate and beautiful crockery, thick linen napkins and heavy cutlery to build an air of elegance in your restaurant.

Avoid moisture in your home. Extreme moisture can not only cause mildew, it can also damage your structure especially wood and drywall materials. To avoid too much moist in your home, fix leaking faucets or sink. Check your pipes if there are broken lines. Use air conditioners and dehumidifiers as needed. Maintain the right temperature all over the house including the basement and attic.
Remove anything that was damaged by mildew. If something has been infested by mildew, take it as a whole right away. If the damaged thing is not removed, the mildew will further develop. Be careful in removing the object to prevent you from inhaling the spores of the mildew.
Clean and dry the surfaces in the house. Ensure that every part of the house is clean most importantly the bathroom and the kitchen where moist and dirt are always present. After cleaning the whole house, dry the surfaces to avoid moisture. Ensure also that there is proper ventilation all over the house to maintain the right temperature all throughout the year.

A Few Simple Home Cleaning Tips

We all hate home cleaning. There is no way around it. Unless we want to live in a pigpen, we need to pick up around the house every now and then. If you can't keep up with de-cluttering your home, you can always hire a home cleaning service instead.

There are ways to tackle chores. Have a pail or something with a handle that has your entire supplies handy so you don't have to run around the house looking for the glass cleaner or the dust rags. Things to carry in your home cleaning supplies bucket include dust rags, furniture polish, glass cleaner, bathroom cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, etc.

You should start to clean from top to bottom. When you begin dusting, start upwards and work your way down. By starting from the top, the dust will fall in a downward spiral.

Take away anything that you believe will distract you. If you have to, unplug the telephone and turn the TV off. If you are in the middle of cleaning and your mom calls, you will sit and talk with her for an hour or so. That is distracting because you could have been done in that hour; plus you will not want to finish what you started after getting all comfy during your phone conversation.

Take an empty laundry basket with you as you go from room to room. This way, you can pick up things that do not belong in that room. When you are completely done with your chores, you can put everything from the basket in its correct place around the house. You should also bring a large trash bag with you so that you don't have to keep going back and forth to the trashcan.

To have a fresh smelling home, a great tip is to sprinkle baking soda on your carpeting the night before you intend to clean. Leave it to set overnight and then vacuum it the next day. This will assist in getting rid of nasty odors.

If you are planning on cleaning windows, you want to do them on a cloudy day instead of a sunny one, but you don't want it to be raining out. If you have windows that are extremely grimy, add about three tablespoons of vinegar to each gallon of water. For drying windows, use newspaper instead of paper towels. This way you can prevent streaking and save money on using a great amount of overpriced paper towels. When using newspaper, wear rubber gloves so you do not get the ink from the newspaper all over your hands.

If you want to be eco-friendly, try creating your own solutions to clean. Using pine oil that is 100% pure is perfect for getting rid of odors from garbage cans as well as cleaning your entire kitchen and the flooring in your bathroom.

Easy Tips For Cleaning The Carpet

Looking for tips on how to clean your carpet? Then this short and informative article is right for you. Follow this guide, and you will surely learn how to do it in simple tips.

Carpets provide beauty to the house by adding texture, pattern, and color. Regular vacuum cleaning is the best defense from all kinds of dirt that can ruin the carpet fibers. In addition, carpets should be cleaned regularly to maintain its color and appearance. You should clean the carpet every twelve to eighteen months. You should give extra attention to the high-traffic areas. If you have kids or pets at home, then you should clean your carpet at least twice or thrice a year. You should always adhere to the instructions from your manufacturer's manual.

Tips For Carpet Cleaning

Safeguard your subfloor (especially if it is wood flooring), carpet padding, and furniture when cleaning the carpet. Ask help from someone to move the furniture from the room. Clean the carpet thoroughly with a vacuum cleaner. You can hire a professional to clean the carpet. Also, if your manufacturer recommends a rental vacuum, please do so.

Carpet Cleaning System

If you have kids or pets at home, it is advisable to buy a professional-style model intended for residential purposes. You can save a lot of money when you have home cleaners than hiring a professional numerous times every year. However, the home cleaner you possess may not be strong like the professional cleaners have.

Water Extraction Technique

Most of the carpet cleaning systems that homeowners have are water extraction models. They are also called steam cleaners. These cleaners inject a solution into the carpet, and then the machine will pull back the dirty solution. Buy a model that does not have a clean-water hookup because it is very hassle to drag the hose while you are cleaning. In addition, always opt for a high-powered machine to make the water extraction fast and efficiently.

Note: Do not over wet the carpet when you are using a steam cleaner. This can ruin the underlayment and carpet backing, making it shrink, lose its color, and produce odor.

Dry Extraction Technique

If we have wet extraction, then we also dry extraction. This is done by spreading a dry absorbent into the carpet, then vacuuming it afterwards. This cleaning method is better and more expensive than steam cleaners.

Carpet Cleaner Rental

It is also wise to rent a professional steam cleaner from your local rental center. The machine that your local rental center owns has extra cleaning power. There is a big BUT. The fees and cleaning solutions may hurt your budget. This will be a good value if you do not have kids or pets at home.

Hiring A Professional

Before you hire a professional, you should decide between dry extraction method or steam cleaning. A professional can do both task, and will work wonders in cleaning carpets. Professionals have high-powered equipment, and they have more experiences in removing all kinds of dirt from the carpet.

Eliminating Dead Cells On The Skin For A Fresh Appearance

Our skin protects our internal organs. It safeguards it from all sorts of harmful vectors that could enter our body. The touch sensation is caused due to the perception of the neural receptors present in the skin. Skin can be of various types, from the oily to the normal to the dry variety. What sets them apart is the amount of the sebaceous glands that are present under its first epithelial layer.

Being such an important component of our bodies, it is essential to keep the skin clean. Each variety has their own routine, but it is the dead and the dry skin that gives the skin a dull outlook. The dead cells layers on it grant a lifeless appearance. Eliminating by exfoliation is the only way to remove these dead cells and provide the chance for newer skin. Before proceeding with the cleaning procedures, it is important to understand why this phenomenon happens.

The Different Causes of Dry Skin

Before deciding on the cleaning regimen of the dry and dead cells, we need to understand what triggers their formation.

Too much of hot water: Long hot showers may be tempting but they also eliminate the prized oils of the skin making it more apt for dryness.

Winter: The cold harsh air blowing during winter can wreak havoc on the skin. Coupled with this, the heat indoors also leads to the build-up of dead cells.

Conditions of the health: Persistent problems of the skin like psoriasis and eczema can bring about a layer of dead covering.

Harsh soaps: Soaps or washing agents, which has higher chemical concentration, can strip away the natural oils.

Ways to Remove the Dead Cells

The dead dry layer can be effectually removed with scrubbing. Using scrubbing agents that would exfoliate like the sponge, loofah, pumice stones etc would leave behind a clearer layer of skin. A scrubbing agent, which is recommended by the dermatologist, can also be used. More than eliminating the dead layer, it is important to lock the moisture inside. If it still feels dry, one can add additional moisturizer to keep it soft and smooth.

Whenever cleaning, it is imperative for the therapists to remember the skin type. Since it is already in the dry condition, it needs special treatments to improve. To avoid such situations in the future, it's best to maintain a daily regime and to moisten them on a regular basis. If the problem persists, a dermatologist needs to be consulted.

Inexpensive Ways to Clean Your Toilet

Baking Soda:

To clean your toilet bowl naturally, dump in half a box of baking soda and let it stand in the bowl overnight. In the morning, flush the toilet several times to remove all the dirt and grime. Run a brush around the ring to loosen any part of the ring that remains. Flush again and that's it!

With this toilet cleaning method, you can be the Queen of Green by using the baking soda that you've had open in the fridge to soak up musty odors and moisture. Just open a new box of baking soda and place it in the back of the refrigerator. Take the old box and put 1/2 box in your toilet bowl. If your home has two toilets, you can clean both of them at the same time, using 1/2 box in one toilet and 1/2 box in the other.

Baking Soda and Vinegar:

Pour one cup of white vinegar into your toilet and let it soak for half an hour. Now dip your toilet brush in the toilet bowl and sprinkle it with baking soda. Scrub the inside of the toilet bowl. Re-sprinkle the brush with baking soda a couple more times. Flush twice, and your toilet will glisten.

Note that vinegar is an excellent fungus and mold killer. If you have black mold in your toilet, especially under the rim, be sure to dip your brush in the vinegar and run the brush under the rim. Wait 30 minutes and scrub with baking soda and brush.

Borax:

If you were a child in the '50s or '60s, you may remember 20-Mule-Team Borax. This stuff will blast through lime deposits and black mold. Make a paste of Borax and lemon juice or white vinegar and rub under the toilet bowl rim and on ring. Let it sit on porcelain for awhile, scrub and rinse.

Tea Tree Oil:

Tea Tree Oil is a natural disinfectant and cleanser. Add one tablespoon to a gallon of warm water. Pour in the bowl for a few minutes. Scrub and swish. It smells good, too. You can put some of the liquid into a spray bottle and use it on the outside of the toilet, too. Since tea tree oil is an essential oil, you can buy it anywhere that natural cleaning products, essential oils and supplements are sold. A little tea tree oil goes a long way.

What About the Ring?

Bleach, Vinegar and Borax Power will obliterate a toilet bowl ring. So will scrubbing a toilet bowl ring with a pumuce stone.

Condense the Mess in the Laundry Room With These Tips

There is nothing more discouraging than a messy laundry room. Condensing the mess is a great step to making it a more pleasant task.

In the first place, laundry is a thankless task. After just one wearing, laundry is right back in the hamper waiting to be washed all over again. If you can make the laundry environment just a bit more appealing, you will find it less of chore. The secret is bringing some order to the laundry room.

Make more room

The first trick is to make more room in the laundry room. This means you need to make better use of the unused spaces. For example, most laundry rooms can make use of the space between the washer and the dryer. With as little as 8 inches, you can add a set of narrow wicker drawers that fit between the washer and dryer. These four graduated drawers hold fabric softener sheets, stain sticks and even your eye glasses so you can read the tags on clothing. The plastic front resembles hand-woven wicker. It measures 36 inches high, 19 inches deep and 8 inches wide.

With just about the same amount of space, you can add a roll-out laundry caddy that stores some taller items, like laundry detergent, fabric softener and the iron. The sturdy melamine caddy has three open shelves with raised side rails to keep the products in place. The caddy is set on dual track casters, so it easily rolls out and goes back in between the dryer and washer. It measures 31 inches high, 25 inches deep and 8 3/8 inches wide. Some assembly is required.

Hanging tricks

Sometimes the best way to get rid of clutter is to go up. The fold down overdoor laundry hanger gives you a closet where there is not one. It creates a place to hang clothing when it comes out of the dryer or if the laundry instructions recommend line drying. It is made with a locking hinge that supports 10 hangers. When it's not in use, simply fold it down and way. There is felt padding on the inside of the bracket so it won't scratch the surface and it fits over most doors.

A simple way to air dry your laundry is with a set of five hanging clips. Made to fit over a towel rod or wire shelving, these drip dry hanging clothespins let you air dry anything from delicates to towels to socks. Their no-slip teeth keep your clothes hung up and off the floor.

Laundry carts

If you have ever seen the laundry carts in a Laundromat and thought they would be useful at home, you are in luck. Laundry carts are available in everything from commercial size to personal butler size.

The laundry butler is compact enough to fit in the smallest laundry rooms. The chromed steel frame has 3-inch industrial wheels with double locks and a large basket to hold your laundry. You can hang wet or dry garments on the valet bar that rises above the basket. There is a bottom shelf underneath the basket that can store laundry soap and other supplies. It measures 67½ inches high, 24½ inches wide and more than 20 inches deep.

If you are looking for something with more storage space, consider the classic antique bronze laundry center with its three heavy duty, removable canvas laundry bags. It also comes with two bags - one for lingerie and one for sweaters. Hanging above the three laundry bags is a crossbar where you can hang the clothing you just ironed. There is also a high shelf for storing clean clothes or laundry accessories. The laundry center will roll across your home on smooth rolling casters with two locking wheels. The bronze finish on the steel frame is attractive enough you won't want to rush to put it away. It measures 72 inches high, 30 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

Extra space

If counter space is at a premium in your laundry room, then you probably could use some extra space where you can fold your laundry. This steel, rolling laundry station offers extra space and more. The cart's two shelves hold detergent, fabric softener, folded clothing and more. There is a slide-out wire basket that can hold small items, like stain sticks, clothes pins and scissors to clip loose threads. When closed, the melamine doors on top can be used to fold laundry. They open to reveal a removable canvas bag. All this rolls along on casters and measures 31 inches high, 26¼ inches wide and 18 inches deep.

Another easy way to increase space is with a wire shelf that mounts over the top of a washer or dryer. Measuring 26½ inches long and 10 inches wide, the vinyl coated shelf will easily hold detergent bottles and boxes.

Make laundry less of a chore by condensing the mess so you can focus on getting the wash done and getting back to your family.

How to Get the Most Out of Your House Cleaning Service

Anyone who has his or her home or apartment regularly cleaned by a professional service crew knows how nice it is not to do the tough cleaning. But a cleaning service isn't cheap, so it pays to know a few tricks to get the most out of your crew.

Most people do a little straightening up before the cleaners arrive, but it pays to do a little more. First, if you have not yet put jewelry, cash, and other valuables out of the way, then you need to do it right away. If you've done a thorough job screening your service, the risk of outright theft is probably low. Taking things out of sight will eliminate any problems or misunderstanding, all the more.

Also try and reduce clutter around the house before the cleaners come. Kid's toys or art projects on the counters, paperwork on the kitchen table, blow dryers, and even makeup on the bathroom sink all slow things down where cleaners will just take care of them. Take a moment and put them aside so that the team can get to every spot easily.

If you want hard-to-reach areas cleaned, like behind furniture and such, move items before the cleaners come. Provide a note to direct them what you want done. In the course of normal cleaning, most services do not move furniture or heavy objects.

Be specific about how you like things cleaned and what is important to you. Most services strive to do a good and thorough job, but everyone seems to have one cleaning pet peeve or a spot they like cleaned in a certain way. Instead of being frustrated, you need to be specific. Talk with the group supervisor and show to him or her specifically where or what it is you want done and its value to you. Most cleaners will gladly adapt their routine.

While it's not necessary to leave your house or apartment while the cleaners are there, try and stay out of the way. Most cleaners have a routine they follow, so try, and avoid redirecting them to other rooms or tasks. The same goes for kids and pets. With fewer disruptions, the cleaners will do a better job.

Try not to offer cleaners food or drink, or engage in some chit-chat. While you might feel this is a polite gesture, understand that the workers are there to do their job where they need to move on to the next client, in the most efficient means. Again, the fewer the disruptions, the better cleaners can be.

If you use the same group on a regular basis, don't forget to show your appreciation. This is especially important if you've asked them to do extra work. While tipping is not required, it is appreciated. Also, don't forget the end-of-year gratuities and thanks.

Lastly and most importantly, you need to keep up with the communication. If something is not being done the way you like it, provide constructive feedback right away. Cleaners rely on pointers where they want to keep their clients happy and satisfied with their work. That being said, if the same problems keep cropping up and the work isn't being done to your satisfaction, it may be time for you to look for a new provider.

Going Green When Cleaning

Some of the largest pollutants that we use as a business nearly everyday are often things that we do not even necessarily think of as pollutants, and that is the simple cleaning products we use such as hand wash soap in cloakrooms. On top of this if you work in any office then the chances are that you have commercial cleaners coming in every evening that may well be using a range of cleaning products that are anything but green.

Indeed a simple look around in your cleaners cupboard, may find a locked cabinet for storing cleaning supplies, and one of the main reasons for this is that many of the cleaning chemicals still in use today are toxic and anything but green in nature.

Yet the pressure on all companies to go green is increasing month on month, with pressure coming upon businesses from Governments and lobby groups alike.

So if you have any concerns whatsoever as to what cleaning products your cleaning company is using, then why not sit down with your cleaner and find out if they have a "Green" policy and how it affects you, or if they do not then why not work with them to look at using alternative green products in your offices.

This is a genuine concern for a lot of companies as many of the detergents in use today cause a lot of harm to the environment as often the detergents cannot be easily or cheaply removed from your waste water by your local water company.

Also having a green policy when it comes to cleaning products is something that you can use as a plus point in your company brochures.

Going green when it comes to cleaning supplies need not cost anymore than buying non-green cleaning supplies in the majority of cases, although there are some chemicals where no credible green alternative yet exists.

Widely used cleaning products that are now available in environmentally friendly versions are washroom cleaner, toilet cleaner, hand wash soap, air freshener, heavy duty cleaner, multi-surface cleaner, carpet cleaner, glass cleaner and even degreasing products. So as you can see the list of products available that are environmentally friendly cover the majority of cleaning supplies that any commercial cleaner will need to use.

If you employ your own cleaners and buy cleaning supplies in for them to use then why not make the switch over to green products and help the environment out today.

Some Hidden Dangers of A Dirty Carpet

Nowadays, the carpet is a piece of furniture, the cleaning of which, is very often minimized and even unconsidered by some home owners. It is not uncommon to see many people clean their carpets only when there is an occasion or when they are moving into a new place. The best time for you to do some carpet cleaning is when you are settled in your home or just before you move homes. You should know by now that the dangers of not paying for the services of a seasoned and prolific carpet cleaner are umpteenth. You must make an effort to have regular carpet cleaning sessions a minimum of two times a year.

Take for instance a light colored carpet such as white; it could look very sharp and cute at surface level but very disgusting within its fibers. Carpets are the most known materials for absorbing and storing dirt.

Actually a lot of people do not realize how important it is to have a professional carpet cleaner do the job for them. It is important because the professional knows exactly what to do in every situation. They know what product to use and what machine works best for every type of carpet fiber. When your carpet is not properly cleaned, it could lead to very precarious health hazards that will use up more money than a few carpet cleaning sessions would. There is a very high rate of fungus and mold that grows in carpets that have silk, cotton, wool or other common carpet fabrics. Such fabrics are suitable environments for their growth, when not properly cared for. The same applies to our sofas, rugs and some well known upholstery.

However, the great majority of carpets nowadays are made with synthetic fiber. Such fibers, as they are not natural, do not easily favor the growth of fungi and mold within their fabrics. They do have issues that need to be handled to prevent them from causing havoc in our various homes. It is very easy for carpets to harbor such pollutants as dander, dust and pollen. There are hardly any doubts as to how polluting these elements can be to the air around us.

A single carpet cleaning session will prove to the owner that the home can feel fresher and a lot more comfortable. When there is a professional carpet cleaning session in your home, everything is different; the air is fresher, the carpet feels softer, beautiful and clean, while the entire house feels more warm and welcoming to everyone. You don't want to turn your home into a sickbed just because you do not constantly clean your carpet.

A regular carpet cleaning session would give the carpet a life span of about 10 to 15 years of healthy living and beauty. Give your family the best of carpets by taking your cleaning sessions seriously.

Surviving Home Disasters, Major or Minor: Fire/Water Restoration and Other Pro Services Can Help

Damage from fires, floods, and other incidents don't have to mean your home is beyond repair. Turn to fire, water, and other restoration professionals to preserve your house and weather the storm with minimum loss and maximum peace of mind.

Your house is your biggest investment, but it's very often so much more than just an inhabitable savings account. It's also your home, the place were lives are lived and memories are made. Which is why when disaster strikes, the devastation can be doubly costly. When your property has suffered from a fire, flood, or other incident, major or minor, you need to act quickly to not only preserve the structure in terms of a financial investment but also to restore your house into a home that's safe and welcoming for you and your family.

Water Damage Restoration
Natural disaster, roof leaks, burst pipes: no matter how the water entered your home, when you're dealing with a flood, you've got a real mess on your hands. It might be easy to just throw your hands up and call your property a total loss, especially with both fire and water damage, but instead of giving up on your home, bring in a professional flood restoration company. You'll be amazed at what these experts can do to evacuate standing water, dry out absorbed moisture, and stop the damage in its tracks. You may have to replace soggy drywall and refinish your floors, but when you call for water damage restoration in time, you'll be surprised at how well this professional team can contain the damage and stop the problems from compounding with concerns like mold growth and wood rot.

Fire Damage Restoration
When you have a fire in your home, you typically end up with the double trouble of both damage from the fire itself and damage from the water used to extinguish the flames. However, even these dual concerns don't always mean the space isn't salvageable. Modern technology offers a full range of fire restoration techniques including structural drying, smoke and soot removal, and odor elimination. Fire/water restoration companies in your local area have the necessary tools and training to tackle these problems and help you minimize losses.

Additional Services
In addition to the large-scale drying and cleaning services offered by nearly all fire and water damage restoration companies, you may also find yourself in the market for specialized services such as mold removal, carpet cleaning, or tile and grout cleaning. These additional options can help you to clean away evidence of the incident from walls and floors that are in good enough shape to preserve. By revitalizing these finishes, instead of tearing them out and starting over, you're able to help keep the cost of the job down while still returning your home to a clean, beautiful condition.

For major home disasters such as extensive flooding or serious fires, you might want to ask around until you find a disaster restoration company that is also a general contractor. That way, if/when your project requires rebuilding walls, reinstalling flooring, and other major changes, you won't have to deal with juggling multiple service providers. Working with a general building contractor from the get-go who also specializes in fire and flood restoration can help make your life just a little easier during this stressful time.

How Mold Remediation Can Protect Your Property and Your Health

Do you know what is considered among the most serious of common household hazards? This hazard is also one of the most difficult to eradicate. If you see signs of mold infestation or have recently recovered from flood damage, it's extremely important to check your home for mold damage. The best way to keep you, your family, and your possessions safe from this fungus is to hire a qualified mold removal company.

Mold spores grow wherever they can find a reliable source of moisture, which means that they can grow almost anywhere. This dangerous substance commonly forms in homes after flooding and plumbing problems, but it can also develop in humid basements or even within wet clothes. Bathrooms are also a common place for a mold problem to start. Their warm and moist atmosphere makes them a breeding ground for mold.

When mold grows in a household, it produces irritants and allergens that can induce sneezing, stuffy noses, sore throats, and dermatitis in people, particularly children and the elderly. In addition, mold can cause permanent damage to furniture, carpeting, and even walls.

Some ways to avoid mold growth in your home is to maintain common mold deterring practices such as:

Keeping moist areas well ventilated.Regularly cleaning areas where mold is likely to grow (showers, kitchens, sinks).Removing "mold food" or organic materials that have gone bad.

Eliminating mold from a house is not a simple task, and ordinary cleaning methods may not suffice, especially if mold has grown within walls or beyond the surface. Proper mold remediation involves using specialized equipment to safely remove all affected substances from a home along with anything that is causing mold to form. A mold remediation professional will do this with care and respect for a home, aiming to restore a household to its prior condition.

While regular cleaning practices can help repel mold growth in moisture-rich areas, if water damage has affected areas of your home that are beyond reach, mold could become a serious problem. To avoid mold damage after a flood, have a professional water damage repair company clean up any water damaged areas.

If you believe that any part of your home has become contaminated by mold, you should have an inspection performed by a mold removal company. A trained professional will be able to tell you where you have a serious mold presence in your home and provide you with a removal estimate.

Simple and Effective Rust Removal

Wikipedia describes rust remover as "chemical solutions or primers that can be applied directly to a rusty surface on steel or iron alloy surfaces to convert initial and residual rust to barrier and adherent chemical compounds onto the surface. These chemical compounds interact with iron oxides and also protect the surface from further corrosion process. These are able to develop a protective film on the metal surface that protect against rust." Thankfully, for home improvers and DIY-ers like me we don't need to know all the science behind the process to know that rust remover just works!

Almost everyone has experienced rust in some capacity. Most of the time we see rust and we are then disappointed, thinking that it will require lots of work and the use of harsh chemicals. However, now there are products in the market that are safe and very effective. Before you buy any product, be sure to keep a few things in mind. First, you want to make sure it is safe. This is a product that you are most likely going to use in your home, perhaps near children or pets. There are many products that are non-toxic and safe. Commercial products that are harmful or scary to use are a thing of the past. It should also be something that is safe on a variety of materials. The item you may be cleaning could be made from multiple metals or finishes. Find a rust remover that is safe for metals as well as plastics or vinyl. You'll also want a product that will prevent rust in the future. Choose one that will inhibit rust for at least 4 weeks.

When you're ready to de-rust you should first clean your item. You'll want to make sure it's free from oil and dirt. Follow the manufacturer's instructions when working on the rust blemish. Some products require soaking, anywhere from 20 minutes to 24 hours, while others require circular spraying or wiping. As your working on your item be sure to be checking often, this will help you get the best results in the least amount of time.

Home repair stores and the internet are great places to purchase rust remover. However, going to the home store with its stocked shelves can often leave you a little overwhelmed and confused. For those who prefer to conduct research and shop from home, products like wholesale Evaporust may be a good option.

Hopefully, you're now ready to tackle that DIY project you've been putting off. Rust removal can be an easy, effective way to restore an otherwise overlooked treasure.

Commercial Air Cleaning Services

Commercial air cleaning services are ultimately crucial for the health of your employees and customers. Keeping breathing air pure is important for a full list of reasons. Every building should have its indoor air quality tested every 2 years whether it is for commercial or residential use. There are several different cleaning services that can help clear the air. Commercial services range from air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, and hood cleaning. Restaurants and Laundromats especially benefit from these professional services.

Every commercial building can benefit from air duct cleaning. Professional companies will clean literally every inch of your ducts to ensure maximum performance from your HVAC system. After all, the HVAC system is where all the air in your entire building is sourced from. The last thing you want is to be pumping out and breathing in dirty air. Ducts are cleaned with high positive air pressure and soft bristles that push and brush away anything that is clogging the duct. During the cleaning process negative air is used to balance the positive air. This maximizes cleaning power and prevents the particles and contaminants from entering back into the building during the actually cleaning process. Although this cleaning method does not use chemicals there are chemical treatments available.

Hood cleaning is especially important for restaurants to keep up with. Not only does hood cleaning help reduce insurance costs but it helps improve the system's performance! Technicians will check for grease in the exhaust systems and thoroughly clean out any buildup. This keeps your business safe and clean and seriously reduces the risk of fire.

Commercial dryer vent cleaning is very important for businesses like Laundromats. Keeping up with dryer vent cleaning is a maintenance service that should be done periodically in order to help improve performance of machines and reduce the risk of fire. With around 15,000 dryer fires starting a year, this is a service that cannot be ignored. Productivity of the dryers will also improve with this maintenance service. Clogged vents can make loads take much longer to dry-especially clothing items like towels or jeans.

Indoor air quality is something that should always be at its best. Not only is poor indoor air a health threat to yourself, your employees, and your customers, but keeping up with hood and dryer vent cleaning helps reduce the risk of fire. Professional cleaning companies can help improve the productivity of your appliances, improve breathing, lower energy bills, and prevent problems like mold and moisture.

Why Office Cleaning Is a MUST

Office cleaning services do much more than simply empty the wastebaskets or wash the windows. In fact, there are several cases that have been documented which prove that regular vacuuming and cleaning of an office can significantly reduce "sick time" taken by employees and actually increase productivity. By taking these elements into account, most companies can actually offset the cost of office cleaning through their insurance provider or via their taxes, making it an essential ingredient for any successful organization.

Getting a service listing from an office cleaning company is simple. Visit their website, call their representatives, or send out an email, and within hours, you'll have everything you need to make your service decision. There are several essential tasks that you will want to have performed with each weekly cleaning. For example, keeping the restrooms sparkling is a great way to make a lasting impression on a visiting client. In fact, restrooms are considered one of the top "determining factors" in an individual's assessment of the cleanliness of a home or office. Take advantage of this perception by keeping your restrooms perfectly clean.

Increasing Efficiency

Operational efficiency is likely the most important aspect of any business's office. Clutter and dust can sap motivation, as a clean workspace is simply more inviting to an individual than a dirty one. By hiring a service to perform a weekly office cleaning, you prevent clutter from building up and eliminate much of the dust that can accumulate through normal operating hours. And, if your office is increasing its overall efficiency, won't profits increase?

Promoting Health

The health benefits to regular office cleaning are endless. From assisting those that have allergies to helping to reduce the amount of irritants in the air, the health issues that can arise from an unclean workspace can do far more than simply cost the company work hours due to illness. Instead, long-term issues can arise, resulting in lawsuits and increases in insurance premiums.

Client Perception

Perception is everything in the business world, and when your office is neat and tidy, your clients will immediately assume that your business operations are neat and tidy, as well. This is an inherent principle in corporate circles, and nothing can put distance between a company and a client quite like an unorganized workspace. By making a tiny investment in a professional office cleaning service, you are setting the stage for huge rewards in the future.

The lobby is another area that should be taken into consideration. The adage regarding the importance of first impressions rings true when you consider that the reception area is the first thing that a client will see when entering your building. Be sure to remind the cleaning service that your lobby must be spotless, and though they likely already understand, they will be sure to remind the cleaners when they visit your location. Attention to detail goes a long way in this regard.

Office cleaning firms are an important part of many corporations across the globe. With a wide variety of service offerings, organizations of all sizes can find a service that fits their needs and budget. Through careful research, the search for the right company shouldn't take long.

Outline what you need from your cleaning service from the start. This will give them the necessary information to ensure your satisfaction and inform their employees about any special considerations while they are in your office building. Be sure that special care is given to the rest rooms, any expensive equipment, and other areas of concern, and you'll have an office that sets the stage for success!

Top DIY Carpet Cleaning Methods

Carpet is a common floor furnishing to many homes, offices, hotels, planes, auditorium, and many more places. Carpet is a popular choice to decorate the floor for some obvious reasons, such as:

The carpet makes a perfect floor decorating element. There are many varieties of carpet pattern and material available in the market that can bring out a different ambience to the room and accentuate the intended interior design.
Carpet helps to reduce noise. Especially in commercial premises,it helps to absorb reflecting noise emitted by footsteps from human traffic, ringing phones, printers, etc.
Carpet keeps the floor warm. This benefit is not practical in tropical country like Singapore as the climate is warm almost throughout the year. But if your premise is fully air conditioned, then it will be nice to walk on instead of walking on a cold, hard floor.

But with any textile furnishings, carpet need continuous maintenance in order to keep it in good condition and ensure indoor air quality is not compromised because carpet is known to trap immeasurable amount of dust and dirt particles, not to mention the micro organisms like dust mites, mold, bacteria, etc.

Ideally, carpet should be professionally cleaned at least once a year, depend on the human traffic walking on the carpet, to ensure that it is thoroughly cleaned and maintained. But, in between the in-depth professional carpet cleaning schedules, there are a few DIY carpet cleaning steps which you can practice to maintain the carpet's condition:

Vacuum carpet at least once in 3 days, depending on the traffic condition. This is the most important step which you need to adhere diligently to upkeep the carpet condition. Huge amount of fine particles are brought into the carpet pile every day so regular vacuuming helps to minimize the amount of accumulated dirt particles instead of letting them to pile up within the carpet while waiting for the next in-depth carpet cleaning schedule. This negligence will become an indoor air hazard which will cause serious harm to health.
Always attend to any stain on the carpet immediately. Do not allow any stain remain on the carpet as the longer the stain stays on the carpet, the more difficult it will be to remove the stain.
Never rub when you attempt to remove stain on the carpet. Rubbing tends to spread the stain to a wider spot and you may also risk damaging the it. Always blot whenever attempting to remove stain on the carpet. Start from the outer edge of the stain and work on the stain using a clean white cloth towards the centre.
If stain can't be removed by blotting with water, blot the stain with diluted vinegar. If you prefer to use some form of foam, mix a tablespoon of mild dishwashing detergent with 2 cups of water and agitate the detergent solution till foams are formed. Blot the stain using the foam. Do not wet the carpet with the foam solution or you may risk damaging the carpet if it is not dried sufficiently.
Always dry damp or wet carpet immediately by using hair dryer or by sprinkling some baking powder to absorb the moisture. Mold and mild dew tend to thrive within damp carpet. Moisture in the carpet also encourages the growth of bacteria and other micro organism.
If you are looking for carpet shampoo or stain removal product from DIY store, always try the new product on a hidden spot first. In fact, ideally, it is advisable to check for recommended carpet cleaning shampoo or stain removal by your carpet installer or carpet retailer to ensure that the product used is safe for your carpet. If you are not sure, then leave the job to professional carpet cleaners who are equipped with the necessary products and trained to handle difficult stains.

Taking Good Care of Your Hard Wood Floor With Wax Finish

The best advantage of having hard wood floor is that you don't have to worry about allergens getting trapped like they do in carpet. Cleaning the floor at least twice a week using the right vacuum cleaner, sweeper, dry mop and wood floor cleaner, keeps the floor from abrasive build up and keeps its shine much longer.

If stains find its way to your floor, clean it right away. This will prevent the substance from staining the hard wood floor and saves you the hassle of having to remove the stain later on. To clean the stain on the floor use a hot water, a clean cloth and a cleaning solution that is suited for hard wood floors. Do not use abrasive cleaners as it will damage the coating of the floor.

Maintenance Guide for Waxed Finish Hard Wood Floors

If vacuum cleaning, mopping or sweeping does not make your wax finish floor shiny again, buffing it is your next best choice. Buffing should be done first before you apply a second coat. Often times you would not need a new layer to coat after buffing. If buffing does not make your floor shiny, you'll have to use a liquid wax for wood floors and a wood floor cleaner. Apply the wax to the floor and buff it after it dries.

In removing stains from waxed finish floors, here are some tips that you can follow:

Ink stains and water Stains- to remove this type of stain use a #000 steel wool. If it won't work try using a sand paper with fine grain together with a wood floor cleaner and a #00 steel wool. After that make sure you wax and buff the area.

Common Surface Marks- common scratches and marks on the surface of your wax finish floor can be adhered by applying wax on the area. Buff the area to restore its shine.

Food stains- In cleaning this type of stain use a damp cloth and start cleaning on the outer surface of the stain and move your way inside. After removing the stain see to it that you dry and wax it afterwards.

Sticky Stains- harden the stain by applying a cold pack of ice. When the stain hardens it should crumble off of the floor. Use a rag or cloth to clean the stain off.

Furthermore, to avoid unwanted scratches on your floor, never drag heavy equipment and furniture across your waxed floor. Also, if your kitchen and bath room floors are made of wax coated hardwood floors, place a rug directly below the sink and on the door step of the bathrooms.
